Cabling & Bracing
Cabling and bracing is a popular and effective preservation technique with trees where a crack is either visible or inevitable.
Beautiful, mature trees with multiple vertical stems and/or heavy leaning limbs are susceptible to damage and failure at the point where they connect. This preservation method utilizes cables and threaded rod (individually or in combination) to join multiple stems as a means of “bracing” the compromised area.
Correctly installed, these systems will reduce the stress on the branch union and allows the tree to move as a single unit rather than several individual sections.
