Elm

Elms, Ulmus minor, are deciduous and semi-deciduous trees in the plant family Ulmaceae. Unfortunately, once one of the best known trees in North America, Dutch elm disease has decimated the native elm population. There are new cultivars available that are resistant to DED from local plant nurseries. If you are lucky to still have an original Elm tree on your property, they are strong, fast growing and have a beautiful classical vase shape.
